Hirano Ha Karate Do Association

What We Teach

We teach Shotokan Karate Do using the methods brought to us by Soke Kiyohisa Hirano, where our emphasis is not to conquer others, but to conquer the weaknesses within one's self.

Shotokan Karate Do is a Japanese style of Karate created by Funakoshi Gichin. It was through his teachings that the system was widely spread world-wide, and remains the most popular style of Karate Do to this date.

We offer classes for all levels of experience and skill.

Children's Karate
To prepare children for the rigors of an adult Karate program, we offer classes that are specifically aimed at teaching younger children. The classes focus on teaching children the fundamental techniques, discipline, while also being physically challenging.

We have a Cubs program, tailored for 5-7 year old children, as well as a Tigers program, tailored for children from ages 8-10.

We offer instruction in kobudo based on the Okinawan weapons art known as Yamanni Ryu Kobujutsu, with a focus on the bo and the sai. Students can start at 5th Kyu Green belt.
